Yesterday I did intentional cardio for the first time in over a year!
…by intentional I mean not sex… ‘cause you know that normally just happens on the fly every couple days and for this past year afterwards I always tell my hubby, “Welp! That was my cardio for the day”. 🤣🤣
It was on purpose… high intensity interval training! And guess what??? It sucked! I sucked! I barely could do it. I wanted to stop after the first couple reps of jumping jacks…
…but I didn’t. I kept going. I pushed myself through every single rep. Was I slow? Yep! Did I do everything right? Nope! I couldn’t even do the push-ups correctly. But instead of skipping them completely, I modified them and did what I could!
That’s what’s important! Because I know in a couple weeks when I continue to do my best and keep going even when it’s hard, I’m going to look back on that first workout and be so damn proud of myself! Hell, I already am! It was really fucking hard!
Last year I could do three rounds of this exact same workout! So I’m setting a goal with my cardio to get to that point again! I will continue to do this workout for one round three times a week for the next month. Then I will switch to two rounds and keep going!
On another note, I met my nutrition goals for the day! I’m set at 2369 calories. With a 40/40/20 split. I’m going to try this for two weeks and adjust as needed!
I also lifted weights for the first time in over a year yesterday. I did chest & tris. Hubby trained me in our home gym. It was actually pretty fun, and I really enjoyed him helping me and supporting me through it because right now it’s totally embarrassing for me! I never had that kind of support in a relationship before and it made me feel really good about the workout during, and after!
Lastly, I met my water intake goal for the first time in YEARS! I’m probably most excited about that! Yes, because out of all the things to suck at, I suck at drinking water! 🤷🏻♀️
But seriously, it’s so important to put all the pieces of the puzzle together! Because when you do your best everyday, you get better! You make progress! That’s what I’m striving for right now! Not to be perfect! Not to pretend like I can do everything right! Not to fake til I make it! PROGRESS!!!
And by crushing each day like yesterday, I know I’ll be at my goal in no time!
