I have let the number on the scale consume far too much of my energy and emotion on my fitness journey!
After losing 110lbs+, it seems to be a common reoccurrence for me to be concerned when the number on the scale starts to rise.
I’m only 5’2” so my “healthy” weight to doctors is considered to be “104lbs-135lbs” 🤔
When I heard this for the first time, my brain instantly went, “Ok Danielle so you aren’t in shape unless you’re maintaining 104” (the lowest normal #….)
It took a long time for me to be comfortable with myself after losing weight, and maintaining that weight was far near impossible.
As a single mother I was busting my ass for my children, working a full time job, running a household, and taking wrestling bookings- so trying to maintain my health normally ended up as a last priority.
Fast forward two years, I was the healthiest and happiest version of myself!
Not because all of my priorities went away, they are all still there (even more so with running the business now!)
But because I made myself aware that 104lbs was impossible for me. It made no sense. It was a number made up in my head simply for the fact that it was the lowest normal number for my age/height.
Here’s my reality!
140lbs (that’s almost 40lbs more!!!) is my normal! It will fluctuate of course, but this is okay!!! This is where I am healthy! This is where I am happy! And this is where I will be when I’m just looking to maintain my weight!
My advice- take your waist line measurement too! Don't just use your weight to assume your progress! Your waistline will shrink much faster than the number on the scale!
Nobody knows your body better than you, so listen to it!!
